Last Monday saw the first of three programmes following a year in the life of Chatsworth House. When I watch excellent programmes like this on our great historic houses I’m reminded that Ann and I have a responsibility to future generations to treat our far more modest home with a bit of TLC.
Britain’s Got Talent Live is at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield on Friday 24th June. Tickets are available now so get booking and don’t forget to book your local accommodation! Throapham House is less than 13 miles away from the venue allowing you ample time before the event to perhaps try some local restaurants whilst you visit. Why not stay an extra night and and spend Saturday exploring some of the wonderful countryside nearby. We are less than an hour away from Chatsworth House in the beautiful Peak District and just over an hour to York.
After major restoration, the house and gardens open on Sunday 14 March with a new visitor route through the house. There is a new gallery for displaying art and new displays celebrating the Duchess Georgiana and an exhibition celebrating the 90th birthday of Deborah Devonshire, the present Dowager Duchess. For more information on opening times, what’s on etc go to the Chatsworth House website.
