Throapham House makes a brilliant base for visiting the major leisure attractions of Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire including the Peak District National Park and Sherwood Forest.

Easy access to the region’s major road and rail networks makes day trips out to the nearby historic cities of York, Lincoln and Nottingham a breeze while Sheffield with its shopping centres and vibrant nightlife is less than half an hour away.

We’re putting together a collection of things you might like to do in the region all of which are within an hour of Throapham House by car.

And don’t forget we’ve also got some lovely countryside right on our doorstep with the English Heritage property of Roche Abbey within easy walking distance of Throapham House. Remember too to look out for any local events which may be taking place during your stay.

You’re always assured of a warm welcome by your hosts Ann and Robert on arrival at Throapham House. After we’ve shown you to your bedroom and explained our facilities we’ll offer to serve you with complimentary refreshments either in our guest lounge or your bedroom. We’ll also try to answer any questions you may have about our local area including restaurants, transport and other amenities.

Our breakfasts are freshly prepared to order and our menu includes a selection of dishes using mainly local and home-grown ingredients. We do our best to cater for vegetarian and gluten-free diets but if you have any special requirements please try to let us know in advance.

We normally serve breakfast between 7:00am and 9:00am but we know sometimes you might want an earlier start so we’ll always do our best to accommodate your needs.
