There’s plenty of local nature and wildlife to explore in the many varied habitats around Throapham House, but if you want to try something more exotic then we've several award winning wildlife parks and sanctuaries nearby.

Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife & Falconry Centre

If you want to try something different then the Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife & Falconry Centre at North Anston is an interesting way to pass a few hours whether you’re young or not so young. It’s only about five minutes from Throapham House.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park

An award winning Wildlife Park with a difference, just 16 miles from Throapham House. Lions and Tigers in South Yorkshire! The park made news headlines in February 2010 when it rescued 13 lions from dreadful conditions in a zoo in Romania. The lions are now in a 9 acre reserve and have recovered from their terrible ordeal. You and your children will love walking through some of the animal enclosures to really get up close and personal with the animals.
