Sheffield Theatres

The Lyceum and Crucible theatres stand side by side in the heart of Sheffield city centre and play host to some spectacular musicals, heartwarming dramas and side splitting comedies. The Lyceum presents touring West End productions, opera and contemporary dance while the Crucible is a producing theatre, which means the shows are designed and rehearsed in-house.

The World Snooker Championship has been held at the Crucible since 1977 where the best players from around the world compete for the coveted title. The Studio, which seats 400 people, is underneath the Crucible and hosts small-scale in-house and touring productions. The acclaimed tri-annual Music in the Round Festival is also held here.

So why not round off your day with a visit to one of Sheffield’s theatres? Add to your theatre experience and dine either before or after a show in one of the many restaurants nearby. The theatres are approximately 25 minutes drive from Throapham House.

Sheffield City (Oval) Hall
